Chitosan is a polymer -(1-4) glucosamine which formed when acetyl group substituted hydrogen to become an amine group. has antibacterial antifungal properties. Isolation chitosan was carried out through stages demineralization, deproteination, deacetylation. limited use laboratories during pandemic major obstacle isolation process This study aims shell into simple way on home scale. Processing includes deacetylation were done using tools materials available at home. Laboratory equipment such beakers could replaced with pots, reflux cloth filter, measuring cups glasses. research 1500 grams powder produced 1050 white slightly hard texture
